I am planning a service on my F150xa and one of the items listed on the scheduled maintenance parts list, amongst others, are the 8 X anodes (68T-11325-00-00). Looking at various digrams in manual etc it would appear to me that I would have to remove a gasket or 2, that according to the service manual would need to be replaced. If this is the case I can't quite understand why the gasket (s) don't appear in the scheduled parts list. I am facing this same dilemma with 4 other anodes (63P-11325-01-00). If any kind and knowledgable person could explain what other parts I in fact would need to replace or not in order to replace these anodes I would be very grateful?

I think the anodes he is asking about are on the back side of the exhaust cover.
AFAIK the "maintenance schedule" refers to them a "accessible with major disassembly"
to be replaced only "during major service procedures"
which I interpret to mean if you are exposing them for some other reason - not just to change the anodes

Thanks for all the responses, yes you are correct Fairdeal, they are the ones behind the exhaust cover. What I find confusing is why they are included in a list of scheduled parts. In one of the service manuals under the maintenance schedule it suggests they should be replaced every 1000 hrs or 5 yrs. In my case I am not quite at 500 hours but my boat has been in the the water for just short of 5 years.
This also applies to the other 4/5 anodes I mentioned which are located in the cylinder block. I am not referring to the anodes as illustrated in Townsend's picture (which I have replaced once previously)
I am beginning to get the impression that it would be completely unnecessary at this stage to bother with these anodes.Last edited by Pevbay22; 02-26-2018, 10:14 PM.

If the easily accessible plugs are wrecked then I might consider digging further. Hard to imagine though. I hear other brand motors are very different.Last edited by pstephens46; 02-26-2018, 10:05 PM.
