could be the way you run it or where you run it..
is there a lot of sand/dirt, sea weed, or trash in water?
do you run it in real shallow water?
do you ever start it up when up out of the water?
do you replace the impeller only or do a kit?
what has the ones you pulled out look like( problems found)?
No magic crystal balls for us to look into, so you will have to give more info

Replaced mine. 115TJR
Run in silty, muddy rivers.
Glad I replaced it, was still pumping, got lucky.
Over 100 hours on it.Last edited by bogydave; 11-12-2013, 08:32 PM.

I will probably wait till 200+ hrs as long as it keeps a good stream going.

Allows all the bolts and shafts to be cleaned up and lubed.
May keep you from writing about not being able to drop lower unit some time in the future

Stay way away from anti seize that has any copper in it,
aluminum and copper do not get along

I pump some sand.
pump glacier silt & sandy water 99% of the time.
Sometimes gravel too.
Old jet drive foot. Not my damage.
I replaced the foot, got it welded & semi straightened up for a spare.
Gotta be Yamaha tough to run rivers in AlaskaAttached FilesLast edited by bogydave; 11-14-2013, 07:40 PM.
