Fuel gauge not working

Hi, my Yamaha fuel gauge has suddenly stopped working. It's now just blinking on the last bar on the gauge even though I have filled up the tank.

Any ideas on what I should take a look at? and would this be an easy DIY fix or should this be done by a professional?

sounds like its either become unplugged or the sender failed.
