Horses particularly thoroughbred racehorses are branded with only the last digit. Now horses can live many decades. It often requires a trained eye to actually work out some horses' ages
Are there not paper records regarding their birth and linage? Hopefully they won't need an updated balancer either.
Yes there are records if a horse is branded. Now the problem is horses change ownership sometimes many times, and unlike a car or boat they don't have a place on their bodies to hold such papers Interestingly they are often traded absolutely naked, but I have the registration papers of my , now seven**** year old horse, that can look seven or twenty seven.

There are also records from Yamaha on what was installed from the factory and if Yamaha changed it out (and to what type balancer). I know as I called.
Original balancer was replaced with a type 3. That started making noise ("supercharger" noise and a "squeaky belt" noise-maybe 50 hours on it) and I replaced it was a type 4 purchased here.
ALL noise' went away..
