Can someone please explain the difference between a f100 d model to a f100 b model. I realise the d model is the australia / newzealand release but is there actually any difference?

My experience has been that sometimes Yamaha will assign two different model identities to the exact same motor. It depends upon where in the world the motor is being distributed as to which identity that it gets.
The only way to know if there are any differences, and what those differences may be, is to open the parts catalog for each model and to look at each part that makes up the entire motor.
For example, here in the US the 2010 150 HP four stroke model was labeled as an F150TXR. In Europe, and maybe in Canada, the equivalent motor was labeled as an F150AET1X. Both of these models are in the YAM USA parts catalogs. It appears they are one and the same motor. Just labeled differently.
All of the YAM USA models are listed at the YAM USA website. Unfortunately, a number of other foreign to the US models are not in the catalog. You would have to go to the country of distribution and see if a parts catalog is available.
Capiche?
Sometimes the information is simply not available.
