Yamaha F40 lLA fuel pump problem

Hello .
I have a 2009 f40LA outboard with a problem at the fuel injection pump so one mechanic told me I should order 6BG-13910-01-00 FUEL PUMP ASSY at 250$ , speaking with another mechanic I was told to buy 90891-40792-00 6BG FUEL PUMP KIT at 65.22$.
What is your opinion ?

I would find a Yamaha dealer and see if your engine is covered by a recall.
its simple and easy and some of the F40's had factory issues.

There was no recall on the F40 for the fuel pump but there are some technical bulletins to address certain issues related to the pump.

Before you do anything, call Yamaha Customer Support at 866-894-11626. Give them your engine identification/primary ID, tell them about the problem you are having, and let them advise as to what support they may render.

If you do decide to replace the pump on your own then buying the kit at $65.22 is the way to go. If you can get it at that price. Apparently so since that is the price that is listed at
