Just purchased a new vf225, (2013), on a G3 Pontoon. The hour meter does not work. Is there an hour meter somewhere on the engine itself, that I can ck the hours. I'm guessing that a wiring connection was not made when they installed the outboard on the pontoon? Would the unconnected wire be behind the dash or back by the motor?, Any advice would be appreciated, Thanks

Part of a Yamaha multifunction tachometer or standalone gauge? I am guessing standalone gauge but...
Yes, the engine's computer logs run time. You will need either a Command Link tachometer or Yamaha software and a laptop to see run time. -

I'll get a closer look at the wires behind the guage in case not hooked up, it is a standalone, has trim guage on the lower right side of it and the hour meter on the lower left,Comment
