f25 clunks/jumps when in forwar gear under load

My 2012 F25 hit a rock, which wrecked the prop and bent the prop shaft. I installed a new prop shaft in the lower unit, and a new prop. Now it works fine in reverse, but when I put a load on it in forward gear, it frequently clunks/jumps like a gear is slipping. All the gears appeared to be good when I had it apart. I tried adjusting the shift rod quite a bit, and it didn't make any difference. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for your help.

it either got reassembled incorrectly or the clutch dogs are damaged.
there is NO adjustments for the shift rod.
its either assembled correctly or its not.
