I have a 2002 F200 with 600 hours that falters and then finally quits. First instance I was running at 4200 then the engine quit for a fraction of a second and resumed power. In this instance it happened two more times and then resumed power and operated normally for about two more running hours. The last instance the same fault occurred but the quit portion became progressively longer until the engine quit entirely. It is like a hard stop like the ignition is cutting in and out. It then restarted and we proceeded 5 minutes before we had the same occurrence. It started one more time and then quit. We could not restart and we were towed in.
The next day I was able to start the engine to put it on the trailer to take it for repair.
Additionally (or may be part of the issue) I have had overheat alarms periodically but only at idle and very infrequent.
