F90TLR prop shaft

On the lower unit I removed the gear housing.

Can I pull the prop shaft out without causing any issues? I want to clean gears and inside with a cleaner, probably gas.

Maybe an oily solvent like kerosene would be better than gasoline for cleaning bearing surfaces and gears....don't want to turn a ball or roller bearing with no lubrication whatsoever....
