I am looking at a Mariner with tag 30ML 689 L 324746. No year that I can see. Curious about year and value. looks to be in clean condition and described as freshwater use only. Appreciate any feedback. Manual start. thanks!

Looks like a Yamaha made motor. Call their customer support number and have them plug the engine id (689 L 324746) in their system. It probably won't find this specific number but they should be able to find serial numbers on either side (higher and lower) and then tell you what the equivalent Yamaha model is.
From looking at Yams website it appears that a motor with a 689 prefix is their CV30 (1989 ~ 1991).
Go to the following Yam website and look at the major parts. They begin with the prefix 689.
