2001 yamaha 115

all 4 cylinders have 120, but there is a small tick (not a knock) in the engine. any ideas??

All the 2 stroke outboards I've owned have made a variety of whirring, clicking, mechanical sounds....most are just normal....

If it were a four stroke F115 I might suspect that it is the fuel injectors pulsing that you might be hearing.

Can't think of anything in a 115 two stroke that would normally be ticking.

Seems I have read about air in fuel pump on some motors will cause some noise, but have no idea which motors.
Might make sure you are not sucking air from a bad o ring or connection

Is noise only at idle? Change when rpm is raised? Check for exhaust leak tell-tale signs like black streaks at exhaust manifod cover, around cylinder head, etc....
