Hello everyone,
I'm a beginner with a quick question. I accidently ripped the lower unit shift shaft boot on a 1990 Yamaha 40 2-stroke ELD. I just ordered a replacement boot. While waiting for the parts to arrive, I moved the unit around and just happened to rotate it upside down without the boot and gear oil came dripping out everywhere. I thought that gear oil is only supposed to be contained inside the gear case? Is that normal?
Thanks in advance for your help!
