Hey guys,
Bought a 2009 Yamaha f-250 recently and I am in the process of converting all controls and rigging to command link.
I have the 23' harness running from the engine to the single binnacle command link control box.
I have the control box connected to the key switch and wired to the hub with a pigtail.
I have both gauges connected via pigtail to the hub.
When I turn the key on, both gauges boot up but I get no blue or orange light on the control box.
I have power to the control box because I can trim the engine from the control box. Also, when I advance or pull back on the control I hear an electronic clicking that is absent when the key is off.
I was told originally that I would have to sync the control box to the engine which I planned on doing. However, I was told today by another Yamaha tech that the control box and engine will only have to be synched if the control box was used on a different engine in the past and that even though I am hooking up to a used engine, the new control box should link without having to hook it up to the computer.
I followed the rigging instructions to a T. The only thing I can find different is that I am missing one inline resistor on the hub. Not sure if that would make a difference here, but that is the only difference I see between the rigging and the diagram.
I am going to bring the boat in to my mechanic tomorrow and I am sure it will get sorted out. Just wondering if anyone here might know what I am doing wrong.
Thanks in advance for any feedback...
