I recently tried to use my boat and the motor went up just fine but then would not go down. When I try to go up or down now it just makes a clicking noise like when a car's battery dies. A friend of mine was able to take a couple wires off of what I thought was the tilt trim relay but apparently was actually the rectifier and jump it making the motor tilt down. When attempting to go back up we blew a fuse. I assumed it was the relay that was bad but now I think it is the rectifier. Can a bad rectifier cause the tilt trim not to work? I thought it was linked to the motor's altenator charging system and had nothing to do with the tilt and trim. Any help/ideas? Motor is a C75tlrs
Also, the tachometer has been jumping all over the place which leads to to lean towards the rectifier being bad also.
