Yamaha F150 - Code 28 SHift Position Switch

F150 is showing a Code 28; Shift Position Switch - Irregular Signal.
Where is this switch; in the service manual I can only find information for the Shift Position Sensor?

its the same switch.
kinda like ISC vs IAC.
its an open or closed switch.
kinda like the light switch on the wall.
its on or off.
does the moter have running issues?

Yes there is an issue with intermittent stalling at low RPM.

Motor runs fine when running however;

Sometimes when engaging gear from idle the engine cuts out.

Sometimes when reducing throttle to low RPM/idle the engine cuts out.

Why does it stall?

most likely a miss positioned throttle shutter to TPS adjustment.
I think a member ,sierra, had an issue and I posted extensively on how to fake out the ECU.
what is the ISC command when its at idle?
anything much above about 45% and it will stall occasionally mostly when slowly accelerating.

if you clear the code will it clear or is it active?

test the switch and wiring for proper continuity.
