  • High Pressure fuel pump

I have a 2001 vx200tlr. Recently it has been stalling or won't start. I have replaced the fuel line and bulb and changed the fuel filters. I have ordered a new high pressure fuel pump resistor which has not yet arrived, based on a trouble chart in the service manual but I'm not sure this will solve the problem. There is no resistance across the current resistor which should measure 0.55 ohms. When I turn on the ignition, the fuel pump comes on sometimes but seems to cut off eventually. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions.

at key on the pump will run about 3 seconds and shut off.
the resistor is only used below about 1200 RPM.
above 1200 and you can remove it and toss it in the creek.
trouble shooting is way cheaper than chunking "cheap" pumps at it.

Did you ever monitor rail pressure ?
Or test amp draw of hp pump ?

          fuel pressure gauge on schrader
voltmeter with amp ability on + side of hp pump
find yourself a manual or a good tech
