My 1989 200HP has become harder and harder to shift. Recently it has seized up almost completely. After inspection the issue is corrosion on the shift mechanism directly under the powerhead. To change this fitting I need to pull the powerhead but that is a time consuming task to do, and not sure if it is worth it on that age engine.
Is there any way of freeing up the mechanism to get more life out of it? Any work arounds to it?
