Ran out to fish a few weeks ago, and after running and pulling back to idle, the Starboard engine had a knock. At home on water the “knock” did not seem to be there so we lowered the drive into water and the “knock” is there. It seems to be at the top of the motor to the front of the main. That is the only place using a stethoscope we could hear it. All cylinders’ sounded the same at the top of the heads. We dropped the lower unit hoping it was from it but the “knock” is still there. Oil consumption is the same between the two motors, and the OX tube is clear. It is a single “knock” so I assume it could not be the top Main, but any suggestions would be great.
