Weak fuel pump?

What are the symptoms of a weak fuel pump? I have 04 60 four stroke yamaha. It has intermitent fuel problems. It will occasionally act like its starving for fuel when planing out. It runs fine idling and top end. I have had the carbs cleaned and re synched . I have drained fuel and replaced. I have also changed the micron fuel filter. I am using premium fuel. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Fatback2

Premium fuel, like as in 93 octane,, if this is the case the engine does not have enough compression to effectively burn it.. you are wasting your money and not doing the engine any favors.. if you have a fuel pump issue it would be noticeable at WOT,, mid range issues I would go to the carbs,, even though they were just cleaned thats where I would go.. might even need a good link and sync...

how long has been sinc3 you replaced your primer bulb and fuel line sometimes this little bugger will give you lot of problem as it gets hard during storage
