I've got this wild notion to add another tilt switch to my 97 Yamaha 115 on the cowling base, where a switch would be if it were a pricier motor. I've checked the schematic and tested the wires there (light blue & light green) and it seems to be straightforward. Does anyone see a problem with cutting a hole in the base and installing the factory switch? I plan to piggyback to the existing plug-in wires. Thanks for any ideas!

Rich,
I think you have a good idea - I use the t/t switch on my 2000 C115 a lot - even thinking about adding one up near the bow close to the *****ing motor bracket.
You can add as many t/t switches as you like as long as you add them in parallel - I will send you a basic wiring schematic of the t/t system if you will PM me and give me your e-mail address. It may be of some help.
Good luck ,
