Hello everyone, I am currently trying to get my '88 15 hp outboard back in the water, but have been having problems with the manual pull starts pawl drive engaging with every start.It catches the flywheel intermittently and sometimes not at all I have replaced the pawl drive a few times , but it never seems to last very long. Most recently I made one from poly carbonate (Lexan) which held up longer than the OEM ones I've gotten from the Yamaha dealer, but it still went out. Obviously I'm missing something and something else must be wrong if I'm continuing to go through these pawl drives. The rope seems to return ok as far as I can tell and seems the same as when I got this motor from a friend 10 years ago. Anyone have any Ideas what to look at next? Thanks
