I have a 1989 115 hp 2-stroke oil injected Yamaha outboard with LCD marine meters. In attempting to connect the gas gauge I caused some kind of short. The main fuse at the engine was blown so I replaced it. Now when I go to start the engine that main fuse blows immediately. I disconnected all gauges replaced the fuse and can start it fine but no gauges function, obviously. Did I permanently damage the gauge?

I have a similar issue. Went to start a 1993 130 in the driveway on earmuffs. Engine started OK, but i noticed none of the gauges show anything. Gauge is same as yours. I checked the fuses in the center console, all OK. Where did you find a blown fuse in the motor?Last edited by PSTOLLIE; 06-28-2013, 10:52 AM.
