Hi, actually I have a Yamaha F80 with problems on the gears of lower unit.
This is my second gearcase that broken the gears with about 10 or 15 hours of use. The first brokes the forward gear and the second the main gear. I'm using a 13 x 19 propeller that runs @ 5600 to 5700 rpms.
I was looking to yamaha parts for gearing replacement and the main gear is no longer available.
Any person with a similar problem?
Does yamaha change the gears in order to correct some problema with these lower units?
