Trim Sender

Salt water environment

Trim sender is stiff and does not move enough on it's own to register bars on tach. Am wondering if it is ok to spray unit with wd-40 or pb blaster to try and free up or is replacement my only option. It does register bars if moved manually. Thanks for any input.

I use fluid film or crc656.
but spray away.
