Question is: Do I need to coat the threads of the bolts that hold the waterpump to the lower unit with marine grease or never seize? Seems like a dumb, straightforward question but I would like to hear it from someone with real world experience. I just had to drill and tap two broken waterpump housing bolts (successfully) due to salt water corrosion. Man, that salt water corrosion is like welding metal together! What is the recommendation for lubrication to the waterpump/driveshaft oil seal housing? That piece was pretty difficult to come apart, but time and patience prevailed. I guesstimate that the unit had not been apart for more than a couple of years, as the impeller was wiped out. Love to hear from Rodbolt on this one. Just bought the boat last fall and was told that the H20 pump was recently done...obviously lied to!
