1997 yamaha 75 hp outboard is giving an alarm. I am assuming that it is overheating. Just put in lake for the 1st time this year. it ran fine for about 15 minutes from ramp to beach then gave alarm. It has a good stream from water outlet. Pulled out thermostat. and it had a small piece of rubber stuck in it. Put it back together and let it run for about 15 minutes at a medium idle in neutral and no alarm and was able to hold hand on top of motor with out getting hot. Killed it and got ready to try to take it for a spin and after restarting, it gave alarm again and top of engine was to hot to touch. It seems to do it after putting in gear to move. Noticed that a round gromet is missing from the fin that is above the propeller and it appears to be bubbling. Any ideas..
