  • What did I do?

    New here so I appreciate the patience and help. I've got an '06 F250 that I just did an anode change along with thermostat and VST filter changes. I put it all back together and everything seemed ok until the first time out when it was apparent that it's running a little rough and I'm only getting around 5300 rpms at WOT compared to the 6000 I was getting prior to any changes. The slight vibration and roughness I'm getting feels to me like its just one cylinder. I changed the plugs and double-checked that the ign. coils were on properly. I checked that the intake manifold and silencer gaskets are good but so far the same. I'm thinking that after changing the VST filters I kicked up some dirt and it sent it down to the injector(s). What else can I check before I bring it in for diagnostics? Any ideas or help would be appreciated. Thanks.

      Update

      Add this to my problems....I checked the oil and and I'm making it. Definitely fuel in the oil. So, is this a bad fuel injector? If so, how does a clogged or stuck injector get fuel into the oil?

        3 ways to get raw fuel in the oil on an F250.
        past the rings or though the airbox vent or pressure regulator.

        overpropping can cause it but its slower.

        if you miss a plug cap when installing the coils that's about what you get.

        you can hear it though.
        motor will have a ticking sound like a collapsed lifter on an old chevy.

          Thanks Rodbolt....I was going with the theory that I stirred up some dirt when I changed the vst filters and clogged an injector. It's definitely not over propped, it's the same prop I've had on for 6 years. There is a definite vibration on the motor when it's running. It can be felt in the boat. Subtle but definite. Is there a way I can check the spark with the engine running?
