Don't forget that you are reading out of a 10 year old manual and a lot of products and lubricants have changed and been improved over the past decade.
The latest F25 manual says use Yamaha's or an FC-W certified oil (FC-W was not around 10 years ago) and the ambient temperature chart shows that every grade is acceptable depending on the environment, from 5W-30 to 20W50.
