I have a 250 four stroke yamaha manufactured 7/2005 with 1150 hrs.
After sitting for most of the winter i took it out and after running for a
about 10 minutes i pushed it to 6000 rpm at wide open throttle the engine slowed a little and when i looked back about 200 ft behind the boat i could see a big puff of smoke coming out of the water. I idled for a couple minutes and the motor cleared up and ran fine. I did it again and the same thing occurred.
I drained tanks put fresh fuel, dumped some ring free and changed oil and same issues. I ran engine with cover off and removed the crankcase vent and at WOT the motor pukes oil out of the vent line. That would normally go straight into the intake which causes smoke. What could cause this?
