1989 f 9.9 sf

I have the above motor and my mechanic says the carburetor is shot and needs replacement. Yamaha says obsolete and unavailable. Can someone steer me to a place that may have a carburetor available? Or maybe a compatible one from another year? The rest of the motor is in excellent condition. Thanks for any help.
