F225 midsection question

I'm hoping a yamaha mechanic can read this and provide me with some expertise, sorry for this long post, it's my first time on this forum, and my typing skills are not up to par. I had the midsection exhaust components replaced as a preventative measure on my 03 F225. The question I have, is it normal for bubbles to be coming out of the intake area, just below the cavitation plate. The job was done by a certified yamaha mechanic, but I have my doubts as to whether it was done right. As soon as the job was completed, I wanted to see if the motor would pee, we hooked up a hose to the attachment port, and it did not ,we then filled a big tub with water, and dumped the lower unit in, and cranked the motor, Still no pee.
After removing the power head a total of 3 times, and dismantling everything again, he found that the damper seal (part#1 in the schematic diagram) had made an indentation on one of the main gasgets, causing a slight void. He remedied this by cutting a thin portion of the damper seal about 1/8". The motor was put back together, and finally it peed. I wasn't to happy that the motor had to be "jerry rigged", but I tried to be optimistic, since he cut me a good deal for the job. I've been using the boat ever since for about 5 months,and have not had any overheating issues, but I do notice those bubbles, and I"m wondering if that's going to be a problem in the future.

dunno, never had an issue with one.
if you have run it 5 months its obviously ok.
the kit does come with two casing gaskets, which one you needed to use is by which casing you have.
identifying the casing is in the tech bulliten.
I have 2 apart right now and 2 more kits ordered for the next pair.

thanks Rodbolt, in regards to the bubbles, is that something to be concerned about?

beats me, I never noticed them before and I am not looking at yours.

the kits are stupidly simple to install but it still takes me 8 to 10 hours to do one.
