  • 2001 yamaha f100 water pressure gauge question

    Hi guys,

Just bought a 2001 yamaha f100 that is on a pontoon. Want to add a faria water pressure gauge to match other gauges. The boat does not have a temp gauge but does have the light for the overheat alarm. From what I have read I have to remove the temp sensor to add the water pressure gauge. Will this make the overheat alarm inactive? Will the bolt with the nipple fit from faria? Any help greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Zack

look in the Yamaha rigging guide and you will also need the fitting kit.
DO NOT remove the water temp sensor.
there is a port just for adding water pressure.
useless on a pontoon but its your time and money.

Thanks. And as far as being useless thanks as well. We use it in an extremely weedy lake and just want to be able to make sure we have water pressure without having to go to the back and look everytime.

I think gauge would be easier than looking at the tell tail to see if pump was still pumping if you cannot see it from driving area.
Would be nice if you could rig up a pressure switch to set off an alarm when it got too low. I have found you never seem to notice the pressure drop before over temp alarm goes off. But you will probably get use to looking at the pressure gauge often when around weeds

          not busting chops,just warning ya.
most 4 strokes typically hold less than about 3 PSI below 1000 RPM.
most gauges simply are not that accurate at that reading.
some wont even move until about 5 PSI.

Yamaha does sell a temp gauge kit .
