another PTT problem/question

I have a 91 90TLRP. When I pulled it out this year the power trim/tilt was acting up, almost like it was stuck, got it to go up very slowly and then checked to make sure there was fluid which there was, but it would not go down or up any more.

Power is good, switches are good and the manual release is good. After messing with it I found that it will go up and down sporaticaly as long as I bang on the motor while holding the switch.

What should I do, replace the motor? Repair the motor? Do these motors get rusty or stuck brushes? I saw on another post that someone said you have to take the whole motor off the boat in order swap the ptt motor unit?

Please help me out if you can as I have already sold the boat but am sticking to my word to make sure it all works good before letting him take it.....

have seen water get inside and rust things up,
and one magnet came unglued from someone tapping on motor

Sorry no help with removing motor on the 90.
On my 40 I was able to pull top pin and lean T&T out far enough to remove all screws on motor
