yamaha 50hp jet drive shuts off at wot

MY yamaha 50hp 2 stroke idles great, run at mid throttle great but as soon as I throttle all the way and boat plains off and I go a hundred yards motor losses power and shuts off before I can pull the thottle back. Then when I go to start it back it sounds like motor is locked up but after bumping the key once or twice it starts right up . Any ideas????

If your jet or the power head is locking up you have major problems.
need to find out if it is binding up and which one it is

But it starts right back up and run if I put waterhose on it here in yard it will not do it only does it under load

Maybe your fuel pump, lines, restriction of fuel at high flow rates/full throttle?...any recent changes to your fuel system, cleaned filters?, added filters?...

had shop clean carbs it ran good first 2 times i took it out the motor sat up for a couple of years and like I said it idles great starts right up cold and it will run wide open for about 100 yards then just shuts off.

If you cannot turn the flywheel by hand after it shuts down, that would indicate something is binding up.
strange the starter will not turn it over

you just have to see what is happening, we can not.
