    Hello!

I'm Aljaž from Slovenia, Europe. We purchased inflatable boat Solemar Super Vip 61 (you perhaps haven't heard of this brand, it is Italian..) with Yamaha F150 last year. The outboard came with Yamaha black aluminium prop 14 X 19. We got 5500 rpms and 45 mph at WOT - we were three people on boat, the weight of the boat is 1940 lbs and the length is 6 meters (20ft). I understand with the correct prop you should be around 5800, 5900, maximum 6000 rpms. So I am looking for the SS prop to reach those rpms. I am not looking for a specific performance...I am looking for the best overall performance with good fuel efficiency to get!

What do you think guys, should I go to 18 or 17 pitch? I was thinking about Yamaha Reliance series 14 1/4 X 18 or 14 1/4 X 17 prop. Do you have any other suggestions?

I will be thankful for any information!
Thank you and all the best from Slovenia,
    Aljaž

You normally drop pitch when going from alum to stainless and need to drop a pitch size to gain more rpm's so would probably need a 16 pitch SS prop.

I have tryed a number of props on my 18.5' G3 Deep V. The prop I recommend that works the best for me is Solas Lexor 3 15 3/8 18 R 3571-154-18. These props are hard to find, but it works well on my boat. Decreased rpm from 6000 to 5800 with a top end speed of 47.3 mph.
