I obviously have water in my gear oil. I need to know how to remove the 1/2 thick plate under my water pump to get to the drive shaft seal. I tried to pry a lil with a screw driver. what is the best way?

Are you certain that the driveshaft seal is the problem?....could be the shifter shaft seal, prop shaft seal or drain/fill plugs seals/washers. Maybe run a pressure test on lower unit to identify the bad seal before ripping into it?...

It is a 90TLRD. 2005 Model. Its the 1/2" plate under the water pump. Why Im on it, Im gonna change all of the seals out.

that plate is a seal carrier.
if your in or near saltwater it does not come out easily and MUST come up straight.
**** it much and you buy a gear case housing.
carefully pry it out.

Im near saltwater. The plate is corroded pretty bad. I have pryed a little but not moving. Just wanted to make sure I was doing the right thing. Maybe I will leave that alone and change out the rest of the seals. I dont want to break anything.

Yamaha 6H1-JD008-73-00 PUMP ADAPTER is the part I am having trouble getting off. It has a gasket under it. What is the best way to remove it?

use the yamaha dealer locator function, find a dealer near you with a master tech and an oxygen/acetylyne rig and it will come out.
