Hi,
I was having some issues with my C40TLRX engine working intermittently. I noticed a cut in the wiring harness that goes from the ignition and the cut had green corrosion. I tried to spice the damaged section. I failed to disconnect the battery until after I cut the harness. I cut back as much of the bad wire I could but the pink and black wires were black on the copper. The engine won't start and the tilt and trim doesn't work. I'm guessing I shorted something out and I checked the fuse and it appears to be fine. Which device was most likely damaged by this? Rectifier? Starter relay? What is the easiest way to determine? I have a voltmeter I can barely use. I have battery power coming in. I'm also ordering a new harness.
Thanks for any pointers you can give.
