  • 04' Yamaha F225 Waterpump rebuild kit

I will be replacing the impeller and gaskets, o-rings, etc this weekend and wanted to know if it is recommended to use locktite on the bolts and permex 2 on the gasket before putting it back together.

Use grease on bolts and shaft splines, can use permatex to hold oring in housing.

Thanks for the information; do I permatex the gasket below the waterpump as well?

Thank you.. I didn't mean locktite early; what I was meaning to type is antisease on the bolts....thx

I simply use grease to retain the orings, grease on the bolts.
        nothing on the gaskets.
remove and clean any corrosion from the damper and damper holder.

use a dulled chiesel to remove the impeller key.

hold the chiesel horizontal at the lower edge of the key.
drive the lower edge into the shaft and the upper will start rotaing out.
now bring the DULLED chiesel vertical against the top of the key.
drive the key down and out.

failure to use a dull chiesel will bring grief.
trying side cutters is useless and may bring grief.
using a center punch will bring extreme misery every time.
