150 saltwater series idle problem

My 150 saltwater series 2 98 carbureted motor will not idle. I adjusted the pilot screws with no luck. I have began cleaning my carburators and expected to find alot of gunk in there causing the problem. The carbs were clean. Two thugs I found was that the pilot screws were worn ad had rings. Also, the needles had rings. I have ordered new pilot screws and needles. I was wondering if anyone thought that this will solve my problem or if there was anything that I am not currently considering as a source of my problem. Thanks .

carefully inspect the pilot fuel and pilot air jets and passages.

there is NO A/F mixture screw on that carb.
