i owen a 1985 20 ft. maco that has a 1989 200 yam on it series 200etxf iwould like to know if repowering with a1994 225 yam is a good joice or if i should put new powehead on the old engine. all seemed fine with all my old components except broken piston. the 94 is a fresh rebuild from a reputable dealer. 3000 for motor 1500 for power head and 600 to install are the two motors farly compatable monting and harness wise.

For only a $900.00 difference the 94 225 sounds like a better deal. If your lower unit and power trim unit is in A1 shape and you have been satisfied with the 89 200 then it may be worth it to you, but you probably couldn't sell that engine and get $2100.00 for it.
