  • Yamaha 225 TILT piston

I spent this afternoon pulling out my 2000 Yamaha 225 OX66 RAM TILT piston due to a bad seal leak. Everything went well until I went to reinstall, when putting the piston into the cylinder, the "plunger" on the piston would not go fully into the cylinder (not far enough to allow me to screw the cap back in place.)
It seems like I need to bleed the cylinder or something...I did release the fluid line at the bottom and I also cycled the manual tilt screw a bit....
    Ay ideas?
    Thanks in advance.

there is air trapped between the tilt ram and the free piston, you need to pull the free piston out and push the two down together..
