Yamaha 225 hp lower unit question

I have a 1990 Yamaha 225 hp outboard. I also have a 1993 Yamaha 150 hp outboard. Can these 2 lower units be swapped without any performance problems, especially on the 225? The lower unit is better and much less used on the 150 hp 1993 model. The boat that the 150 is on is seldom used and a much slower boat.

If same shaft length then will work, gear ratio may be different.
