Trim tab. What's the purpose? Mine is missing.

1 its a sacrificial anode.
2 it counter acts prop torque to reduce helm feedback.

Trim tab is important and I use a drop or 2 of Loctite on that bolt that holds it on, since they are known to vibrate loose...

the last function on most is, extra cooling water to the prop ex cavity to aide in cooling the hub.
some engines shake them loose worse than others.
