2003 Yamaha 15 hp 4 stroke..Smoking

I have the above listed outboard engine, It smokes from the time you crank it till you shut it down. Engine runs well and has good compression and cylinder walls are without any scratches. I did however find oil in the intake side of the head,both valves..any help would be great,thanks

Is it over full on oil do to making oil or just overfilled?

have you taken the motor off and laid it down?

Not overfull with oil and engine is on boat.I dont take it off.

Valve guides maybe or rings are the only thing I can think of right off hand.

Sure you are not running some 2 stroke mix instead of straight gas. Just a thought

I was thinking rings also but cylinder walls are in excellent shape,not to say that isint it..Valve seals dont appear to be worn out."cracked or hard" . But i havent thought of the valve guides itself though. I did check the gas just to be sure.but what ever it is,it consumes alot of oil. thanks for the idea..
