Got to the lake today and ran 10 min to fish, everything was fine. Fished 5 or so hours and when I tried to start the motor it would turn over but then immediately die. It did this several times so then I put it in neutral and reved the engine when I started and it started up fine. It had never done this before. Idled a few minutes, everything was ok, then started fishing again. 30 min later I was ready to go so I idled out for a while then when I got up on plane everything was fine till I hit 4000 rpms or so then it died. Started it up again and same thing, got up to 3500 rpms like normal but then died.
I am thinking this is a fuel issue, or what else could it be? How should I start trouble shooting?
