94 90hp start up issue

HI Gang.
After start up and warm up when I excellaerate it runs rough like it dropped a cylinder. I then turn it off and wait a few minutes, start up and it takes off just fine. It doesnt seem to be a fuel issue since I have replaced filters and ran all sorts of cleaners. What i am wondering is do thes motors have a sensor that shuts the motor down if it believes its overheated or low on oil. My 115 hp would do that.

nope they will alarm and limit RPM, but will not shut it down

Thanks 99. I mis spoke when i said shut it down. Do you know which sensor will make it run rough as if it was hitting on 2 cylinders.

never played with a 94 90, but my C40TLRX goes into safe mode by retarding the timing not shutting off cylinders .

But low oil level and overheat should cause the safe mode and alarm on oil injected motors
