I have a 2002 F60TLRA I am getting ready to replace with the new F70LA. Will the lower unit from the F60 fit the F70, does it swing the same prop and does it have the same gear ratio? The reason I am asking is I have a spare lower unit with low water pickup when the weeds get bad in Homosassa, which is all summer.

According to Boats.net, it is a different part number. However, there may be minor differences in internal components. Rodbolt will chime in soon I'm sure -
I guess the lower unit is diferent but not sure.
The gear ratio is diferente:
F60 1.85 (24/13)
F70 2.33 (28/12)
The propeller will fit but due of increase of power may not be the apropriate to get the best advantage of motor.Comment

only way to tell would be to have both units off.
then measure spline size,shaft overall length,water pump heights and outlet locations and the mounting pattern.
I typically dont get involved in interchanging parts.Comment
