Battery not charging on '89 F9.9

My outboard is not charging the battery. How do I wire it up to do so? I have no controls, no ignition switch and I just start the engine by crossing wires. I have a separate generator constantly going which I've connected to the battery but this is a pretty desperate step!

Never mind. I've found the owner's manual on the Yamaha website. Didn't think it would give such detail. Should work fine as I have a regulator which just needs its wires connecting.
