  • oil seal replacement part #

I recently ordered oil seals for the prop shaft on my Yamah 2009 50 hp TLR 4 stroke. The oil seal I ordered was 93101-22m00-00 and Boats.net sent 93101-25m57 as a replacement part. This oil seal fit in easily, a bit too easily as it leaks. The old seals fit tighter than these new ones do. A recent Google search showed Yamaha replaced 93101-22m00-00 with Yamaha part # 93101-22067-00.
Which is the right seal to use?

Should have recieved part number 93101-22067-00, need to call boats.net. The seals you have is the drive shaft seal.

      Thanks for your reply Boats.net.
I called and the problem was I was installing drive shaft oil seals and prop shaft oil seals that are nearly identical in looks and size. I put the prop shaft seals where the drive shafts seals were supposed to go. They fit real tight but, do not leak. I have ordered the proper seals for the prop shaft.

and that is why when I pull my parts and some are very similar, I write on the package where they go.
        saves confusion at the workbench.
trim orings are the worst as some are nearly identical.
